CS reviews post flood rehabilitation measures

SRINAGAR, Dec 5: Chief Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khandey today visited various villages of Bandipora district including Udina and Ganasthan villages of Sonawari tehsil.
The Chief Secretary, who was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Rohit Kansal, Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Chief Engineer R&B besides other concerned officers reviewed the post flood rehabilitation and relief measures.
He reviewed the measures taken by the district administration for the rehabilitation of the flood affected families of the area. He was informed that the work on 20 residential structures is in full swing at a cost of Rs. 70 lakh in Udina and Ganasthan villages. After completion of these structures, 40 families of the area would be provided residential accommodation besides all facilities including toilet and washrooms will be available in these structures.
Mr. Khandey directed the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to ensure speedy completion of these structures so that affected families get relief at the earliest.
The Chief Secretary also visited Kanyari village of Sonwari Tehsil comprising 175 families who were severely affected by the floods.
Mr. Khandey was informed that district administration has formulated rehabilitation plan for the families which is being submitted to the Government soon. He directed the district administration to expedite and ensure proper rehabilitation measures are taken for the affected families so that they can be facilitated in view of the winter season.
