SRINAGAR, May 4: Chief Secretary, B B Vyas today chaired a video conference with DCs to review the to-date performance of the State under the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, a special multi-departmental and multi-sectoral initiative launched on April 14, 2018 for achieving saturation under seven pro-poor programmes of Government of India.
Chief Secretary also discussed the plan of action in regard to achieving 100% saturation under the financial inclusion schemes including PM Jan-Dhan Yojana, PM Jeevan-Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana.
Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary (Coordination), Resident Commission, J&K Government, New Delhi, Mandeep Kaur, Nodal Officer for J&K, Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, GoI, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj and other senior officers participated in the video conference.
The meeting was informed that the State has achieved 100% saturation under the Mission Indradhanush programme, adding that other programmes including PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana and Ujala Scheme have also recorded substantial saturation. It was said that massive outreach programmes were organized across the villages in the State as part of the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan.
The Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, a special multi-departmental and multi-sectoral initiative for reaching out to the poor households in 21058 villages, was launched across the country including Jammu and Kashmir on 14th of April 2018 and will conclude with observation of the Aajeevika Diwas on 5th of May 2018.
Appreciating the performance of DCs and other stakeholders in the implementation of the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, the Chief Secretary stressed on the district administration and the banking institutions to ensure 100% saturation of Financial Inclusion schemes. He directed for deploying special teams to the villages for the purpose comprising government and bank officials on 5th May 2018.
“Coordinate with bank branch managers, deploy teams to every select village and organize special camps to achieve 100% saturation of Financial Inclusion Schemes,” the Chief Secretary asked DCs.
Chief Secretary also reviewed the progress of the prestigious Srinagar Ring Road Project with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and concerned DCs.
