SRINAGAR, Apr 30: In his first interaction with the Civil and Police Administration of Kashmir Division, after taking over as Chief Secretary, B.B. Vyas today undertook an extensive review of the overall developmental scenario and the law and order situation in Kashmir valley.
The meeting was attended by top officials of the Civil and Police Administration including Director General of Police, S.P Vaid, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, IGP, Kashmir, SJM Gillani, IGP CID, A. G. Mir, DIG CKR G.H. Bhat, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, SSP Srinagar Imtiyaz Ismail Parray, SSP Traffic, Sargun Shukla, DIG South Kashmir Range, DIG North Kashmir Range, DCs and District SPs of Kashmir Division.
Chief Secretary was apprised about a number of issues relating to development projects and law and order scenario across various districts.
Chief Secretary urged the officers to work with more zeal and dedication, reach out to the public and address the grievances. He stressed upon DCs/District SPs to direct their subordinate officers to be accessible to the common citizen and be pro-active in ensuring time bound resolution of their grievances. He also stressed upon timely completion of all ongoing projects for benefit of the people.
He emphasized upon expediting the dredging work in river Jhelum, expeditious disposal of land acquisition cases, disposal of claims related to SDRF and efficient traffic management in various districts particularly in Srinagar city.
On this occasion, DGP and other senior officers also interacted with the DCs/ District SPs and shared their valuable suggestions/instructions for maintenance of law and order so as to provide the required impetus to the developmental activities at the district level.
