NEW DELHI, May 9:Crude palm oil prices were up 0.91 per cent to Rs 653.40 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions amid firm demand at the spot market.
Lower stock levels and decreased supplies also provided some support to crude palm oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery this month contract rose by Rs 5.90, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 653.40 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 255 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in June contract went up by Rs 3.90, or 0.60 per cent, to Rs 652 per 10 kg in 27 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants amid pick up in demand at the spot market against tight stocks position on restricted supplies from producing regions mainly kept crude palm oil prices higher at futures trade. (PTI)
