JAMMU, July 12: Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana on Friday stressed the crucial role of people engaged with trade, commerce and industry in overall growth of the Jammu city, which has achieved the distinction of being a premier tourism and pilgrim centre in the north India.
Addressing the office bearers of newly constituted Trade and Industry Wing of National Conference at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this afternoon, Mr Rana said that apart from carving out opportunities of employment and enhancing growth, the industry and trade has to ensure greater consumer satisfaction.
He said National Conference was aware of the problems confronting trade and commerce and said every effort is being made to put in place necessary infrastructural facilities required in a city like Jammu that has been destination for millions of pilgrims, thousands of tourists and continuous inflow of floating population from peripheries in pursuit of greener pastures.
Mr Rana hoped that the trade and industry will maintain its tradition of being consumer friendly and hospitable towards incoming tourists and pilgrims. “Maintaining grandeur of the gateway of tourists to Kashmir and pilgrims to Mata Vaishno Devi and Shri Amarnathji is responsibility of one and all”, he maintained.
The formation of Trade and Industry Wing is sequel to the continuous joining of prominent members of trade, commerce and industry of the Jammu city in the party fold.
While Vijay Gupta (President, Kanak Mandi Association) will be the President of the Wing, Abhinandan Singh Sachdeva of SAS Industries, Gangyal has been appointed as senior Vice President (Industry), Mohinder Singh of Chand Finance, Nehru Market as Sr. Vice President (Trade), Sahil Malhotra of Highland Fashion, Raghunath Bazar, Jammu as Secretary, Ajay Sharma of Tawi Super Shopee, Channi Himmat Colony as Joint Secretary, Ajit Singh of Guru Nanak Sports, Kanak Mandi Gali Partap Garh, Jammu as Treasurer and Naresh Gupta of Mulkh Raj Ved Parkash, Ware House, Jammu as Spokesperson.
