JAMMU, May 1: On the occasion of their Raising Day, 72 Bn and 76 Bn of CRPF organized blood donation camp at the battalion headquarter Channi, Jammu.
The camp was organized under the supervision of unit Medical Officer Dr Supinder Singh while MLC Charanjit Singh Khalsa was the chief guest and Dr Vijay Sahney (HoD Transfusion Medicine GMC Jammu) was guest of honour on the occasion.
Commandant 72 Bn CRPF, Y K Rajput and Commandant 76 Bn CRPF, V S Thakur were first to donate blood in the camp.
62 members of the CRPF, including senior officers, voluntarily participated in the camp and donated blood. The donated blood will be given to Blood Bank GMC Jammu to cope up with the shortage of blood.
Speaking on the occasion, Commandant V S Thakur said that CRPF was always committed to social responsibility and more blood donation camps would be organized in future also.
The GMC Blood Bank team was led by Dr Nazia Asgar and ably supported by volunteers.
