CRPF man knocked to death, man falls from bus

SAMBA, Oct 4: A jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was killed after his bike was hit by an unknown vehicle near Petrol Pump at Bus Stand here last night.
The mishap took place at around 9.30 pm when Constable Balwinder Singh, son of  Ajit Singh, resident of  border village Chaliyari,  was returning home from Sangwali Mandi after meeting his relatives last night. On Jammu-Pathankote National Highway near  Petrol Pump at Samba, an unknown vehicle hit his bike. The jawan was thrown away with impact and received serious head injuries. The vehicle sped away from the spot.
The injured was rushed to local hospital at Samba where doctors provided first aid and  then referred him to GMC Jammu, where he succumbed to injuries after some time. Samba police registered a case in this connection and started investigation.
Meanwhile, one person was critically injured after he fell down from a moving bus at Papar Morh near Mansar this evening. Identified as Raj Singh, son of Krishan Singh, resident of village Dunera, he was coming from Battal side. He was reportedly sitting on the roof top of the vehicle and fell down due to jumping of the vehicle. He was shifted to Samba hospital and later referred to GMC Jammu.  The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
