SRINAGAR, Apr 1: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle at Sonwar area in outskirts of Srinagar on Tuesday evening.
Sources said the constable, Rakesh Kumar (belt no. 110040933) of 79 Bn posted at Sonwar camp shot himself with his service rifle.
“After hearing the gunshot his colleague rushed to him where he was found lying in pool of blood,” they said.
The trooper, a resident of Bihar was immediately shifted to nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, sources added.
