CRPF helps displaced families

SRINAGAR Feb 27: In order to help the locals, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) extended helping hand by providing relief material to displaced population of villages near Uri in Baramulla district.
A CRPF spokesperson said that after seeing the vast number of displaced families 53 Bn CRPF helped the district administration by providing ration, fruits, milk, medicines etc for the families.
“Many people have fled to safe location after heavy shelling from Pakistan near border and CRPF helped district police in evacuation of the villagers. SDM Uri, SDPO Uri, SHO Uri and Tehsil dar uri were also present at the relief camp,” he said.
“Vinay Kumar Tiwari, Commandant 53 Bn CRPF while giving the relief material to the needy said that it is our duty to protect the people and on humanitarian grounds, we have provided the relief material and are in touch with civil administration. We will provide all the help that is needed by the administration. He also hoped that the shelling will stop and people can go back to their villages soon,” he added.
