On this occasion, Sanjay Arora, ADG J&K Zone, visited Quarter Guard, where he has given guard of honour. A special entry about the importance of “Valour Day” was recorded in the Quarter Guard visitor book by the ADG.
After this, a Sainik Sammelan was organized in which Sanjay Arora, greeted everyone on the occasion of Valour Day and described about importance of this day.
He said that, in 1965 Pakistan had launched operation “Desert hawk” in ‘Rann of Katchh’ to capture a large territory in Gujrat. Soldiers of Pakistan’s infantry Brigade attacked on “Sardar” and “Tak” post where companies at 2nd Battalion of CRPF were deployed. 4 companies of CRPF thwarted the effort by making the attack unsuccessful. This is a unique act in the history of the country where such a small contingent of para military force had thwarted the invasion of such a large brigade. Since then this day has been celebrated as ‘Valour Day’, he added.
