Cross LoC trade restored in Poonch

JAMMU, Feb 21: The cross LoC trade between Poonch and Rawlakote, which remained suspended for two days after terror attack at Pulwama and prevailing situation in the State, was resumed by the authorities today.
Official sources said that 19 trucks from PoK side loaded with goods arrived Chakkan-da-Bagh Trade Centre in Poonch this morning while 35 trucks of India traders crossed over to that side with goods. Mostly bananas and grapes were sent to that side today.
There was no trade on Tuesday and Wednesday and moreover, weekly bus service between both sides, on this route also remained suspended on Monday. The trade between Uri-and Muzaffrabad (PoK) continued on Tuesday and Wednesday despite situation after terror attack.
A cross LoC trader at Poonch Anil Gupta told the Excelsior that despite claim of 200 % hike in tax on the goods coming from Pak side, no impact was witnessed on the goods coming from cross the LoC today at Poonch.
