POONCH, Mar 4: The cross LoC bus which operates between Poonch (J&K) and Rawlakote (PoK), remained suspended as the Pakistani authorities did not open the gate at Chakkan-da-Bagh crossing point in district Poonch today.
Official sources said that no fresh Indian boarded the Rawlakote bus today while three PoK returnees were going home after staying with their relatives on this part of the divided Jammu and Kashmir. The bus left for Chakkan-da-Bagh LoC point and remained stranded there for more than an hour between 11 am to 12.15 pm but Pakistani authorities did not open the gate on their side.
The bus then returned to Poonch with these passengers, who are expected to return now via Wagah border on Amritsar-Lahore road.
Jahangir Khan, Custodian Poonch, who was deployed to facilitate the travel of passengers at cross LoC point said that bus from Poonch had gone up to LoC point with three passengers hailing from PoK. There was no Indian traveler leaving for PoK today in view of tension between the two countries.
There was no response from that side and even Pak authorities did not open the gate. The bus then returned to Poonch. He said later one of our security officials, managed to establish contact on hot line and they responded that they did not know about the bus operation today in view of holiday.
