JAMMU, Oct 30: Crime Branch Jammu today produced challan against a fraudster, who allegedly duped a person of Rs 10 lakh on pretext of arranging a Government job.
The fraudster, namely Showkat Ahmad Lone alias Dr Faizan Shah alias Basit Shah son of Mohd Ramzan Lone of Batwina, Tehsil Lar, Distt Ganderbal, is involved in case FIR number 08/2017 U/S 419, 420, 406/RPC P/S Crime Branch, Jammu. A team of Crime Branch, Jammu arrested him from Mangaluru, Karnataka.
The accused had impersonated as Dr Faizan Shah and duped the complainant after inducing him that he (accused) enjoyed close relations in the high corridors of power and hence can arrange Govt jobs for their kin and accordingly he took an amount of Rs 10, 57,000/ for this purpose from the complainant.
The allegations against the accused were prima facie substantiated during the Preliminary Enquiry and the instant case was registered. During investigation the involvement of the accused in the case was made out but the accused went underground.
The accused kept on changing his names as well as hideouts. Finally he was arrested from Mangaluru, Karnataka and after further investigation challan has been produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu today.
Besides this, the accused had also impersonated as Director (WHO) World Health Organization and a separate case FIR number 56/2019 was lodged in this regard against him at P/S Barkhe, Mangaluru, Karnataka.
