Crime Branch initiates proceedings to declare absconders as proclaimed offenders

JAMMU, Feb 6: With a view to tightening the noose around the absconding criminals, who are on continuous run to evade their arrest and face the investigation or trial in the Court of law for judicial determination, Crime Branch Jammu has been acting tough against them by initiating proceedings for declaring them as proclaimed offenders under Section 82 and 83 CrPC through the Court of Law.
Earlier non-bailable warrants under Section 512 CrPC were issued against them for their arrest.
Since these offenders of law have been continuously dodging the police and other agencies by frequently changing their locations to avoid their arrest, need for adopting further stringent measures was felt and action, as warranted under the legal frame work, was initiated by Crime Branch Jammu against the offenders (accused) and the Court has declared the criminals as proclaimed offenders under Section 82 CrPC.
The criminals, who have been declared proclaimed offenders are Mohinder Chand of Roop Nagar Jammu involved in case FIR Number 37/2003 under Sections 420,471/ RPC 138 of NI Act of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu, Rakesh Kumar of Trikuta Nagar Jammu, involved in case FIR Number 261/2000 under Section 420, 467,468, 406,201,120-B RPC of Police Station Pacca Danga, Suram Chand of Shanti Nagar Jammu, involved in case FIR Number 09/2005 under Section 420, RPC 138 of NI Act of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu, Sukreti Gupta of Shanti Nagar Jammu, involved in case FIR Number 09/2005 under Sections 420, RPC 138 of NI Act of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu, Jagmohan Singh of Miran Sahab Jammu involved in case FIR Number 36/2013 under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC r/w section 5(2) PC Act Svt. 2006 of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu, Shiv Dayal of Blaser at present Bishnah, Jammu, involved in case FIR Number 19/2007 under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu, Narender Kour of Nanak Nagar, Jammu, involved in case FIR Number 54/2007 under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 470, 474, 34/RPC of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu and Sat Pal alias Vishal of Ampur Majalta Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur involved in case FIR Number 18/2004 of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu.
