Crashing Police naka leads to massive searches

KATRA, Jan 25:  On the eve of Republic Day, crashing of Police naka by an Innova vehicle with Armymen inside, triggered alarm among security forces and consequent searches in and around Katra.
The vehicle, which was on contract with U-Force of Rashtriya Rifles, allegedly crashed Police Naka at Sunderbani in Rajouri, this afternoon. After more than five- hour hectic searches and alert, the fleeing vehicle was intercepted in Katra at Balini Naka. The vehicle, bearing registration number JK02AX-0817, was being driven by one Surinder Kumar, son of Nanak Chand of Reshamghar Jammu, who was in a drunken condition and has been taken into custody by the Katra Police.
According to SSP Reasi, Sujit Kumar, the driver had taken a senior officer of the Army to Rajouri last night and had returned to Reasi today.  He was on way to Army Camp Katra when Police intercepted him, the SSP added and said that statement of the driver was being verified.
Earlier, following the incident of crashing Police naka by the vehicle with persons in Army uniform, there were apprehensions that some militants might have succeeded to enter from Rajouri side. In wake of the apprehensions, all nakas and Police were put on high alert with massive searches.
