Srinagar, Mar 27: All J&K Contingent Paid Employees Union today protested and threatened to lock all the educational institutions if Government failed to fulfill their demands.
The protesters demanded that the qualified contingent paid employees in the Education Department should be regularized and Minimum Wages Act should be implemented in respect of unqualified employees.
“We are asking the Government for last so many years to come up with a clear regularization policy and give a benefit of Minimum Wages Act to the unqualified employees who are working in Education Department on meager salaries,” a protestor said.
He said if the Government fails to fulfill their demands till March 31, they will be forced to lock educational institutes and come on roads.
The protesters said they were working as sweepers, guards, and cooks in different Government schools across Kashmir. The workers appealed the Minister for Education, Altaf Bukhari, to fulfill their demands.
