COVID infections and closure of 3 schools/ College

With a steady spike in COVID infections in Kashmir where in a single day as many as 93 tested positive officially, with one death occurring due to the virus, the district administration had to close three schools in Budgam district and a College in Srinagar after some students and teachers tested positive for the virus. The number of total cases so far recorded in Jammu and Kashmir has gone up to 1.27 lakh with 1962 succumbing to the virus.
Despite repeatedly being advised by the Health authorities as well as by the administration to observe seriously all precautionary protocol against the corona virus spread , instances are galore when such precautionary and safety measures are compromised resulting in the spike in fresh cases of infections. Mass random sampling and testing of the vulnerable spots where more persons were likely to assemble should be made more intense to detect possibilities of any infection whereby preliminary measures like self-isolation and quarantining could be advised well in time. It is to be noted that to be absolutely on the safer side, even after one got vaccinated, using mask and maintaining social distancing were in the interests of all of us. With such a self imposed discipline, there was no reason as to why all districts of the UT could not become absolutely corona free.
