JAMMU, Dec 2: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua Vinod Chatterji Koul today rejected the bail application of Saminder Singh, son of Kartar Singh of Ward No.10, Kathua, who was facing trial in murder case.
“The accusation against the petitioner is that on 30.12.2012, he abetted accused Sohan Singh and in pursuance of the said abetment, accused Sohan Singh hit the deceased with a sickle on his head with intention to kill him. As a result of the injury so sustained by him, the deceased died the next day”, the court said.
“Petitioner has been charged for the commission of offences under Sections 302/109 RPC and till date, no prosecution witness has been examined.  The accusation against the petitioner is undoubtedly very serious”, the court further said, adding “the severity of the crime alleged to have been committed by the petitioner, the supporting evidence and all other connected facts, do justify an inference that petitioner may misuse the concession of bail to escape the dragnet of law”.
Accordingly, court rejected the bail application.
