JAMMU, July 31: City Judge Jammu Prem Sagar today refused to accept closure report against former SHO Gurmeet Singh with the direction to the IGP Jammu Zone to assign the investigation to some senior officer and ensure completion of same within a period of two months.
When the case came up for hearing, Senior Prosecuting Officer submitted that the complainant namely Anil Kumar is dead and final report be consigned to records as nothing has come out after investigation.
However, City Judge observed, “court cannot be a mute spectator particularly in the circumstances one in hand where the final report has been presented by the police by not taking in to consideration the legal aspect as well as other relevant material which can lead to the logical conclusion in the investigation”.
“Therefore, the final report is not accepted and sent back to Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone for assigning the investigation to some senior officer afresh within time period of two months from today”, the court said.
