Court grants pre-arrest bail to Dy Secy

JAMMU, May 4: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Sanjeev Gupta has granted interim anticipatory bail to Anil John, Deputy Secretary to Government  Floriculture Department in FIR No. 16/2017 registered by State Vigilance Organization.
Advocate Aseem Sawhney appearing for Deputy Secretary submitted that SVO has registered two FIRs against the petitioner which are false and frivolous and aimed just to harass the petitioner who is at the verge of retirement. He submitted that in FIR No. 15/2017 the petitioner was arrested and granted bail by the court but the SVO has registered another FIR No. 16/2017 wherein the petitioner is again apprehending arrest to cause humiliation and harassment to petitioner.
After hearing counsel for the applicant, court directed that in the event of arrest the Vigilance Organization shall release him on a personal bond of Rs 20,000 with surety of like amount to the satisfaction of IO.
