JAMMU, Dec 17: Principal Sessions Judge Poonch, Jaffer Hussain Beigh has rejected the bail application of Sakhawat Hussain Shah, husband of the deceased and Safder Hussain Shah, father-in-law of the deceased in abetment to suicide case.
According to the police case, on July 19, 2013 Shazia Kouser was beaten up by her husband and father-in-law after the later allegedly came to know that she was having illicit relations with the driver of a vehicle owned by Sakhawant Hussain Shah. The accused tortured Shazia Kouser to such an extent that she committed suicide on July 20, 2013 by consuming poisonous substance. After completion of investigation challan was presented in the court of law.
Principal Sessions Judge Poonch observed, “offences leveled against the accused are not bailable but are heinous in nature and criminal justice does not mean justice to the accused only. The Court cannot ignore the prevailing law and order conditions in the society or forget the victim of the crime”.
With these observations, Court rejected the bail application.
