JAMMU, Oct 19: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu has rejected the bail application of one Javid Akhter, son of Ab Kalam Azad, who was cheating the people by impersonating as Vigilance Commissioner.
The facts of case are that the complainants met with the accused in the month of September 2017 through Shah Ali, who is running petrol pump at Nagrota Jammu and the accused developed good relation with the complainants as he introduced himself as Vigilance Commissioner Delhi.
The accused told the complainants that he is having many links in Central Government and with some property dealers in and around NCR. He told the complainants that he will help them in purchasing some immovable property out of State in the shape of flats in and around NCR on a very cheap rate.
The complainants paid Rs 1741800 and Rs 1200000 respectively to the accused through Shah Ali of Nagrota in instalments. The accused even arranged meetings of the complainant with some unknown persons at different places to show documents. However, the accused cheated the complaints of their money.
After hearing Senior PO Rohit Gupta for the State, CJM observed, “since many FIRs have been lodged against the accused and the recovery has not been affected so far. The investigation is at the threshold and if the accused will be enlarged on bail, at this stage, the larger interest of the State shall be prejudice and the investigation will be hampered”.
Accordingly, the court held that accused was not entitled to bail.
