JAMMU, Jan 19: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, S C Katal today rejected the bail application of Ranjeet Singh and his two sons namely Ghar Singh, Jaspal Singh and Ranjeet Choudhary, who were arrested by the police in attack on BJP MLA Sham Choudhary.
After hearing CPO Sanjay Kohli appearing for the police, CJM observed, “as per the prosecution version, an attack on the life of MLA has been made by the accused persons. This shows that the applicants are dreadful person, therefore, their liberty and presence in the society will make the witnesses feel insecure”.
“The alleged act of the applicant has potential to the create fear in the mind of public in general”, the court said, adding investigation of the case is yet to be concluded in this case and the investigation officer has yet to investigate various aspect of case such as whether there was any pre-arranged plan of eliminating the complainant.
With these observations, court rejected the bail application.
