Couple, son killed; 4 injured in mishap

DODA, Sept 22: A couple and their son were killed while four others were injured when the Tata Mobile vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into deep gorge in tehsil Rajgarh of district Ramban.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK06A-6728 was on its way from Kastigarh to Kumate, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down at Chellaie Chuchatar area of Tehsil Rajgarh in district Ramban, resulting into on the spot death of three persons of a family and injuries to four others.
On getting information, a team from the Police Post Kastigarh led by SI Surinder Singh Nagra rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals.
The injured persons were rescued and shifted to District Hospital Doda, where they were undergoing treatment when last reports came in.
The deceased were identified as Jaswant Singh, son of Kesar Singh, his wife Nirmala Devi and son Mukesh Singh, all residents of Dhara Roti Padarna District Doda.
The injured were identified as Ramesh Singh, son of Lehar Singh of Kalakhan Kastigarh, Nirmal Singh, son of Shakti Singh of Shangru Tehsil Bhalla, Kuldeep Singh, son of Ishwar Dass of Ghari Kumait and Sandeep Kumar, son of Kaka Ram of Ghari Kumait.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased will be handed over to legal heirs for last rites tomorrow.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Doda Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the cause behind the accident.
