DODA, July 12: Bhaderwah Police today worked out a murder and arrested a couple within shortest possible time.
Police spokesman said that following recovery of dead body of one Abdul Latief, son of Ghulam Mohd of Chinar Mohalla, Bhaderwah from the fields this morning, police started investigation.
During the course of investigation, it came to fore that deceased was frequently visiting the ‘Jhuggi’ of a brick kiln worker namely Salak Ram Manohwar, son of Sadhu Ram of Jarwa of Chattisgarh. Accordingly, police took Salak Ram into custody and put him to sustained interrogation.
During questioning, Salak Ram revealed that Abdul Latief had come to his ‘Jhuggi’ late last night and tried to molest his wife over the trifle issue, which led to scuffle between them. During the course of fight, Salak Ram and his wife Pinki Devi hit Abdul Latief with wooden log leading to latter’s death on the spot.
In order to dodge the police, Salak Ram and his wife Pinki Devi threw the body of Abdul Latief in the fields. However, their designs were foiled by Bhaderwah Police under the direct supervision of SP Doda, Arif Rishu.
Salak Ram and his wife Pinki Devi have been arrested and a case under Section 302 RPC has been registered against them at Bhaderwah Police Station.
