JAMMU, Nov 5: Police today arrested a couple for committing a theft in a shop with the help of their children at Bantalab and recovered Rs 6000 from their possession.
The arrested couple has been identified as Gian Chand and his wife Rajni, residents of village Bachial in Kanachak.
Police said the couple adopted a unique modus operandi for the theft. They kept their two children in the shop, one of whom engaged the shopkeeper on the pretext of purchasing copies while the girl child lifted the cash and fled away.
Police parties from Chinore Police Post headed by Sub Inspector RS Rana established identity of the accused and arrested the couple this morning. Rs 6000 stolen amount has been recovered from them.
The theft had been committed at Adarsh Karyana Shop, Bantalab.
The case was worked out under the supervision of Additional SP Jammu ML Kaith and SHO Domana Vijay Choudhary.
