This has reference to the various earthquake tremors that rocked entire Chenab Valley.
Though several steps were taken by our State as well as Centre Governments by deputing Seismology experts, NDMA teams and three ministers in various areas of districts Doda and Kishtwar to keep close eye on quake hit areas and prepare a comprehensive report regarding damage caused by quake, rehabilitation and rescue operations. Apart from these we need to make people aware about its causes and measure to be taken to save the property and precious lives. I suggest few measures as under.
I think announcing holidays is not the solution. It is better to utilize the services of NGOs, teachers, volunteers to make people aware of future challenges and eventualities. When people get engaged in this pious mission, the psychological fear will vanish from the minds of peoples particularly from the minds of children.
If experts have found any indication of its reoccurance then head of the Institutions be directed to take classes in open and safer places in consultation with local panchayat members till the pressure zone dies out on its own.
The hurdle free extra exit doors be made in higher educational institutions, officers, hospitals etc for safer exits at the time of emergency.
