BHADERWAH, Dec 20: A newly elected councillor died of cardiac arrest here today.
As per police sources, Showkat Ganai (60), who was recently elected as an independent Councillor representing Ward Number 6 in Urban Local Bodies polls of Municipal Committee Bhaderwah, on Wednesday night complaint of chest pain at his residence.
Family members rushed him to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased has been handed over to family members for last rites.
Bhaderwah police has taken cognizance in this regards.
