Sir,
The people of Jammu and Kashmir are experiencing abrupt spurt in corruption after the promulgation of the governor rule in the state and declaration of J&K as UT. All the departments of the UT are demanding and accepting double the amount of corruption than before. The poor person has been the greatest sufferer these days. There is no such department which is free from the menace of corruption.
But the post Covid period has opened the doors of the gold mines for the administration and the Health department because these departments are making purchases without adhering to the norms and SOPS. It is very shocking that the environment around the isolation centres is stinky, unhygienic, the food quality served to the patients is very poor. The development of the UT has come to a griding halt due to the B2V programs where the departments go to the villages empty handed and without developmental projects. It is seen that these B2V programmes are nothing more than a community lunch and an excursion and entertainment for the officers . The corruption has become an epidemic in the UT and has got on the nerves of its every citizen. It is the time to tighten the noose around the corrupt bureaucrats, politicians, encroachers, corrupt employees and ensure equitable and inclusive development of all cities and villages. Let it be a top priority of the Lieutenant Governor to eradicate the corruption from the soil of UT before it engulfs the entire UT in it.
