JAMMU, Mar 2: Vijay Choudhary, Corporator of Ward Number 42, along with Ch Manmohan Singh, former Mayor Jammu, held a meeting of senior citizens of Sector 3 & 5, in her office.
This meeting was attended by many senior members of the ward. Vijay Choudhary told the people present about her recent official tour to the city of Indore, where she and her colleagues were taken to visit to review their municipal structure. She shared her experience gained from the trip and hoped to embark on making few changes in daily routine of the people. Indore has been on number one for its sanitation for the past four years.
Vijay Choudhary appealed people to make a few changes, like not throwing garbage in drains, park the cars in alignment, not to dump building material on road and in lanes . She informed the residents that soon, an auto service for door to door waste pickup will be provided for them and all the old lights will be replaced with new ones.
Ch Manmohan Singh appealed to the residents present to support their Corporator in making the ward an ideal ward to live in. The senior citizens agreed and suggested Ch Manmohan Singh and Vijay Choudhary to take help form Mohalla Committee and form an advisory committee of Sector 3 & 5. These committees will confirm regular work of sanitation staff and keep the Corporator updated on any requirement. With the help of these committees, development work will be monitored closely and efficiently.
Vijay Choudhary said that committees for all the sectors will be formed soon. People were hopeful of the development of the area and expressed relief that Choudhary was working on the same work ethics which Ch Manmohan Singh set during his term.
