Corona testing incharge at IIIM falls ill, hospitalized

Jammu, Aug 6: Mankind has gained much experience in handling pandemics after the three major flu of 1918, 1957, and 1968. It has also been learned from the past experience that as the epidemic proceed in a given city, medical care gets disintegrated. Doctors and Nurses and other paramedical staff gets over worked and sick themselves, and victims possibly receive no care at all late in an epidemic.
The effect of overworked among health care providers in Jammu and Kashmir has Raised its head with one of the front line warriors Dr Harleen Kour, Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and responsible for establishing the Corona testing lab at IIIM Jammu suffered an acute of accelerated Hypertension and was shifted to Superspeciality Hospital Jammu for emergency management.
It is pertinent to mention that Dr Harleen Kour was instrumental in getting the IIIM lab registered with ICMR for Corona testing and has made the lab fully functional during last five months working continuously for 12 to 14 hours a day and has been staying in hotel during past more than four months leaving her family behind.
When contacted, HoD cardiology Dr Sushil Sharma said that Dr Harleen has been put on holter monitoring as her Blood pressure rose to 220/110 and was given emergency treatment and is stable now.
