NEW DELHI, May 16: Coriander and jeera prices rose sharply by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today largely on the back of a pickup in demand from local parties and overseas enquiries.
Coriander prices went up by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 11,600-16,600 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also rose by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 16,700-17,300 and Rs 20,700-21,200 per quintal.
Traders said buying support from retailers and stockists amid rising export demand, mainly pushed up coriander and jeera prices at the wholesale kirana market here.

Ajwain (per kg) 155-190, black pepper (per kg) 600-780, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,730-1,760 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,950-2,060.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 800-860, cardamom (colour robin) 800-820, cardamom bold 810-830, cardamom extra (bold) 940-990 and cloves 730-850. (PTI)
