Srinagar, Nov 6: Security forces this evening cordoned off two localities in North Kashmir’s Sopore area in district Baramulla after reports of presence of militants in these areas.
Police and 52 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) cordoned off Chankhan area of Sopore town this evening after they received information about the presence of a foreign militant of Lashkar-e-Toiba in the locality.
Security forces conducted house to house searches in the locality but could not trace the militant. They strengthened the cordon in the area and are waiting for the morning to resume the searches.
Police and 52 RR also cordoned off village Choora in Sopore and conducted searches after they received information about the presence of at least two militants inside the village. However, the militants were not traced and cordon continued.
