Sir,
I want to bring into kind notice of all those at the helm of affairs in school education in our state that unfairmeans at different level of examinations-8th,10th,12th etc. is spreading like forest fire. The main reason for this is that neither teachers impart education sincerely nor students want to learn sincerely. Both teacher and taught are adopting short-cut methods for success to earn name and fame without any hardwork. The teaching community of Govt. schools who work in private schools or remain busy with private tuitions throughout the year and seldom pay attention to their primary duty to teach classes manage to get appointed as examiners/supervisor/ invigilators etc. every year. Why there is no check on such persons? Why to create exam. centre in the same school for students? Why not in some other schools?Paper leakage is also a blot on examining bodies. Unfairmeans is eroding the quality of education in our state. If those resorting to unfair means at school examinations or promoting such mal-practices are made to go scot-free then there will be further decline in the standard of education. To curb such activities at examination centres, inspection teams comprising of members from the higher education, school education and police department be framed.Toll-free phone number should be started by the school education department to register complaints about unfair means. Ban use of mobiles by students and staff on exam duty. I,therefore urge all the concerned authorities to nip this evil in the bud by taking some strict measures right from the ongoing 8th,10th and 12th examinations.
Yours etc……..
R.K. Hans
