Copper weakens on sluggish demand

NEW DELHI, Oct 6: Copper weakened by Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on sluggish demand at higher levels amid a weakening global trend.
Traders said sluggish demand from consuming industries and reports of a weak trend in overseas markets mainly helped copper prices to trade lower.
In the national capital, copper mixed scrap weakened by Rs 2 to Rs 400 per kg.
The following are metal rates per kg:
Zinc ingot 110-114, nickel plate (4×4) 1,027-1,030, gun metal scrap 227, bell metal scrap 229, copper mixed scrap 400,chadri deshi 285.
Lead ingot 136, lead imported 134, aluminium ingots 131, sheet cutting 132, aluminium wire scrap 138 and aluminium utensils scrap 131. (PTI)
