Copper futures rise on spot demand

NEW DELHI, June 15: Copper futures rose by 0.04 per cent to Rs 481.75 per kg today as participants widened their bets, taking positive cues from the spot market on pick-up in demand.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in the current month was trading higher by 20 paise, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 481.75 per kg, with a turnover of 978 lots.

The metal for delivery in far-month August was up by 15 paise, or 0.03 per cent, to Rs 487.95 per kg, with a trade volume of 73 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in copper futures trade to widening of positions, triggered by a firm trend at physical markets. (PTI)
