NEW DELHI, May 22: Copper prices rose by 0.54 per cent to Rs 411.90 per kg in futures trade today on a firm global trend and increased domestic demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June traded higher by Rs 2.20, or 0.54 per cent, to Rs 411.90 per kg in business turnover of 1,234 lots.
The metal for delivery in August edged up by Rs 2.15, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 416.50 per kg in 62 lots.
Market analysts said besides increased demand from consuming industries, a firming trend overseas on mine-supply concerns influenced copper prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months climbed 0.3 per cent to trade at two-week high of USD 7,393.25 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange. (PTI)
