Srinagar, June 20: A police man was killed and two others injured in a militant attack on a police vehicle near Galander Bypass on Srinagar-Jammu highway area of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district this evening.
Militants fired upon a police vehicle (Tata 407 of IR 17th battalion) at Kandizal near Galander Bypass. Three policemen were injured in the attack and taken to nearby hospital for treatment where from they were shifted to Army’s 92 Base Hospital Badamibagh, Srinagar.
One of the injured include Tanveer Ahmad, who succumbed to injures in the hospital and two others Mudasir Ahmad and Mohammad Ayub were being treated. The area has been cordoned off and a hunt launched against militants responsible for the attack.
