Cop found shot dead in DPL

UDHAMPUR, Oct 18: A police Jawan was found shot dead under mysterious circumstances at his Government residence in DPL Udhampur.
According to the reports, Selection Grade Constable Mool Raj (35), son of Rattan Lal, resident of village Kirchi in Latti Tehsil, was founded dead in his residential quarter. He had one bullet injury on his chest and two bullet injuries on head.
The matter came to light this morning around 10 am when a neighbor went inside the house and found the cop lying dead on ground. His service rifle was lying beside him.
On being informed, SHO Udhampur Chaman Gorkha rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to District Hospital Udhampur where a team of four doctors conducted postmortem. A case under relevant sections has been registered in this connection for further investigation.
Reports said that the deceased had re-joined his duty on October 15 after a long leave for building his house at village Kirchi in Latti Tehsil.
Meanwhile, two dead bodies were found under mysterious circumstances at Ramnagar and Kud area.
According to the police, Rajinder Kumar Sharma (42), son of Ved Raj Sharma, resident of Prey Mohra Badhal in Ramnagar, was found dead under Gurlang Bridge. Inquest proceeding has been started under Section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of death.
In another case, Shamshad Begum (29), daughter of Abdul Rashid, resident of Bai Chenani was found dead at Kota Dhar Sudhmahadev area. As per family members of the deceased, she was mentally challenged and had been missing since October 15.
