JAMMU, Oct 15: A police constable posted on security duty at the house of Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad’s sister allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle at Bathindi here today.
As per reports, 42-year-old Constable Rajinder Singh Charak, son of Swaran Singh of Ghou Manhasa, who was posted on security duty at the house of Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad’s sister at Bathindi, shot himself dead from his INSAS rifle during the wee hours today.
The profusely bleeding constable was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared him as brought dead.
After conducting the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at concerned Police Station and investigated started to ascertain the reason behind the suicide.
