Srinagar, Mar 15: A policeman ended his life by allegedly shooting himself dead with his service rifle in the Hiller area of Anantnag district today.
A police official said that the selection grade constable of IRP 18 Battalion Umer Farooq of Poonch shot dead himself at Hillar camp this evening.
He was immediately shifted to GMC Anantnag, where doctors declared him dead.
The reason behind suicide couldn’t be immediately confirmed and investigation have been started.
