UDHAMPUR, Mar 16: A Policeman was assaulted by an unidentified miscreant at Latti, here today.
The injured cop has been identified as Arjun Sharma, son of Som Raj of Jib, who was presently posted at Latti. He was rushed to hospital where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his critical condition.
The miscreant reportedly fled the scene after assaulting the cop. Police has registered a case in this connection.
Cause behind the assault could not be ascertained immediately.
Meanwhile, Police has seized 31 pouches of illicit liquor from a bootlegger, who was intercepted by cops during a naka at Manwal. The accused has been identified as Girdhari Lal of Chlal.
