Cop arrested with heroin, intoxicants

JAMMU, Dec 27: A police constable posted at Police Control Room (PCR) Jammu has been arrested along with heroin and intoxicant tablets from Hari Singh Nagar, Rehari, falling under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a joint naka was raised by police teams from Bakshi Nagar police station and Sarwal police post at Hari Singh Nagar, Rehari and a Honda City car bearing registration number JK02AR-5200 was intercepted.
During checking, police recovered 2 grams heroin worth Rs 10,000 and 30 intoxicant tablets from the possession of the driver and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Arvind Kapoor, son of Raj Kapoor, a resident of Hari Singh Nagar, Rehari. The arrested person is posted as wireless operator with PCR Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 171/15 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at Bakshi Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar police station Inspector Ashwani Kumar and Incharge Sarwal police post SI Vikas Hans made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Vivek Shekhar, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
