Cop abducted, 4 OGWs held

SRINAGAR, July 5: Militants this evening abducted a Police constable in Shopian district and security forces apprehended four Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of militants from Kashmir today.
A constable identified as Javaid Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Hamid Dar resident of Vehil village of Shopain district was kidnapped by militants this evening when he was on way to a local medical shop to purchase medicines.
Militants, who came in a Santro car, beat him up before bundling him in the car. He was the PSO of former SSP Shopian, Shalinder Mishra.
Security forces reached the spot and launched massive searches against militants responsible for abduction.
Police said that a joint naka was established by Anantnag Police and 1-RR at interior Pazalpora Urenhall Road Crossing. “During naka checking, two suspicious persons who were roaming around were apprehended by the joint party”, police said.
Police said that on their search, one live grenade, one Chinese pistol (9mm) with 5 rounds of ammunition and two bottles of Sodium Nitrate were recovered from their possession.
They were identified as Junaid- ul-Islam Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar, resident of Sail Chursoo, Awantipora and Hilal Ahmad Ganie son of Mohamed Abdullah Ganie resident of Larkipora, Awantipora.
In this regard, a case FIR number 112/2018 under Section 7/25 Indian Arm’s Act and 3/4 Explosive Substance Act was registered in Police Station Bijbehara and further investigation is going on.
And this evening, police arrested two more persons believed to be the OGWs of the militants from Kupwara area of North Kashmir.
Sources said that 41 RR of Army and SOG Kupwara on a specific input apprehended two persons hailing from Trehgam. They are being questioned and after their arrest  massive searches have been launched in Kalaroos. They have been identified as Rameez Mohideen Lone, 28, son of Ghulam Mohidin Lone of Trehgam and Amir Ahmad, 22, son of Ghulam Hassan of Trehgam, Kupwara.
One pistol, two pistol magazines  and three hand  grenades were recovered from their possession.
