Coordinated efforts led to successful conduct of Amarnathji Yatra: Governor

SRINAGAR, Aug 28:  Governor  Satya Pal Malik, Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board today recorded high appreciation for the coordinated effort made by the various concerned State Government departments and agencies, Army, Central Armed Police Forces, J&K Police, Shrine Board and all local stakeholders for the smooth conduct of this year’s Yatra.
Governor was addressing the Post-Yatra Review Meeting which was followed by a felicitation function at Raj Bhavan Auditorium.
Governor thanked the valley people, particularly of Anantnag and Ganderbal districts, for their strong support and wholehearted participation in this annual pilgrimage. He described their role in this Yatra as the true essence of Kashmiriyat which is exemplary for its communal harmony.
He observed that improved arrangements had been made on the ground this year.  He said the review meeting convened every year after the culmination of the Yatra, provides feedback and suggestions for improving different elements of the Yatra and sets the agenda for better management of the ensuing year’s pilgrimage.
Governor asked all agencies to prepare camp-wise and route-wise action plans for Yatra 2020 focusing on the requirements of medicare, water and power supply, sanitation, environment protection, accommodation and other required facilities.
He presented mementoes to the officers who attended the meeting as a token of the Board’s appreciation for their valuable support for the Yatra.
Earlier, Umang Narula, CEO of the Shrine Board gave details of the arrangements made for Yatra and the efforts put in by the State Government departments,Army, Central Armed Police Forces, J&K Police,BSNL,IMD,NeGD and other agencies involved in the Yatra
Governor on the occasion released a Coffee Table Book, “Amarnath Yatra: Flow of Synergy”, published by the J&K Zone of the CRPF. This book celebrates the confluence of the synergy of the Yatris, the locals and the security forces which makes the Yatra a mystical quest that transcends the worldly concept of mortal lives.
Vijay Kumar, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, K.K. Sharma, Shri Farooq Khan, Advisors to the Governor & BVR Subrahmanyam, Chief Secretary J&K also spoke on the occasion.
Anup Kumar Soni, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Board, presented the vote of thanks on the occasion.
Besides, Dilbag Singh, Director General of Police; Lt. Gen. K.J.S. Dhillon, GOC 15 Corps; M S Rao, IAS CEO, National e Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Govt. of India; senior officers from various State and Central Government departments, Army, Police & other security agencies were also present.
