Convert Teachers Bhawan, TRC, PWD Guest House into hospitals: Suri

JAMMU, May 7: Expressing concern over rising number of COVID-19 cases in J&K and subsequent deaths, BJP J&K Executive Member, Raman Suri today urged the administration to gear up to meet the challenges ahead and also urged common people to cooperate in fighting the pandemic.
He said, though doctors and paramedics are doing their best within the given parameters and resources at their disposal, yet more is required to deal the situation that is much more alarming than it was last year.
Suri said that scenes of patients being administered oxygen in hospital compounds and stairs are shocking and speaks volumes of our preparedness to deal with the pandemic.
He urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to consider the options of converting Teachers Bhawan and PWD (R&B) Guest House at Gandhi Nagar besides Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) at Residency Road and more such facilities into makeshift hospitals to deal with the situation.
He said, in the given situation if we would ever require more beds, then these facilities may help a lot.
The BJP leader said that Teachers Bhawan and PWD (R&B) Guest House besides TRC are having ample rooms and are in the close vicinity of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar and GMC Bakshi Nagar.
