JAMMU, Sept 21: During a protest demonstration here today Jammu Kashmir Black Auto Union (JKBAU) has given one week ultimatum to the concerned authorities to control e-rickshaws.
The protest was led by Union chairman, Sunil Dimple who threatened to stage a protest march in city if the authorities failed to control operation of e-rickshaws within a week.
Sanjay Sethi, president JKBAU said if action is not taken against e-rickshaws then 5000 black autos will take out a massive rally in Jammu city.
The protesters raised slogans like ‘Save Black Autos, We Want Justice’ etc in support of their demands. Addressing the protesters Sunil Dimple said that demand of black auto operators was genuine as they are on the verge of starvation.
“We held many meetings with DC Jammu, RTO and SSP Traffic to fix rate list for e-rickshaws, check their overloading and driving license but nothing happened,” he maintained adding: “By starting battery buses and small ten seat autos, the government is destroying the years old auto and matador transport industry.”
Haneef Choudhary, Ajeet Singh, Amar Jeet Singh, Pawan Kumar and others were also present in the protest.
