JAMMU, Dec 20: All J&K (10+2) Contractual Lecturers’ Forum has criticized the State Government for its apathetic attitude towards contractual lecturers for not conceding their case of regularization on the pattern of Adhoc/Contractual/Consolidated employees in other departments in the State and demanded their regularization under Special Provision Act 2010.
The demand was raised by president of the Forum, Arun Bakshi while addressing a press conference today here at Press Club. Bakshi appealed the State Government to regularize contractual lecturers under special provision Act 2010 in which the employees appointed on Adhoc/Contractual/Consolidated basis in various departments are being regularized after completion of 7 years of services.
Bakshi said that hundreds of lecturers have been working in different 10+2 institutions across the State since 1998 and during this period some of them have crossed the upper age limit required for the Government services and many of them are on the verge of it.
“Therefore, it is our humble request to the Government that either 10+2 contractual lecturers be inducted in the new policy of regularization on the basis of merits of our cases or be given the benefit of regularization vide Government Order No 1301 of 2003 for the candidates appointed on academic arrangement basis as lecturers”, Bakshi said.
“Meanwhile, till our case of regularization is settled we may be allowed to continue our services at our respective place of posting and our salaries be drawn as per contractual rules so that we lecturers may not suffer any more”, appealed Bakshi.
