RAJOURI, Apr 19: A protest was held by Contractor Association of Rajouri against the order passed by Principal Secretary PW(R&B) Department in which it was mentioned that every year all the contractors have to complete the verification process again and after that their Contractor Card will be renewed.
Ashfaq Magrey, president Contractor Association told that they are not afraid of verification process but this is a lengthy process and they have to visit different offices for verification. He told all the contractors to complete all the work in stipulated time period and maintain the quality of work.
He also said that department can initiate action against those not doing work properly. He said that a number of unemployed engineering graduates are holding this card and having no job.
The protest continued for two hours in PWD office Rajouri. He demanded from LG’s Administration to direct concerned to take back such order which creates confusion among unemployed youth as on one hand there is no job and on the other hand, department is harassing the unemployed people.
