We, the residents of Ward No. 61, Balwant Vihar, near Rama Krishan Mission, Udheywalla, Jammu want to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards following problem: A big kuchha nallah flowing from Roop Nagar towards Udheywalla has been flowing between Ward No. 61, Balwant Vihar, near Rama Krishan Mission, Udheywalla. During the last year’s flash floods and heavy rains, the nallah was flowing so furiously that complete premises on its both sides were submerged under the water. Though, there was no loss of life and property yet we had to spend our sleepless nights on the roof of the houses for many days. It has created a lot of mental tension and agony which is a matter of grave concern and needs to be addressed at the earliest.
A cemented wall along the nallah about 100 meters from Dhobi Ghat to Govt Middle School, Udheywalla was constructed last year and we were expecting that the job for providing cemented wall all along the nallah would be undertaken by the Government but till date nothing in this regard has happened.
To safeguard our life and property which is always at risk especially during rainy season, it is requested that suitable action for provision of a concrete cemented wall or crates be taken so that we are relieved off from the fear and anxiety of floods in future.

Clean Bishnah Canal
The Bishnah Canal is in a bad condition, particularly near KC Morh. As it remains uncleaned it has been converted into a garbage dumping site by people. With the result, it has become a health hazard. The canal needs to be cleaned on a regular basis so that it does not pose any danger to the people living in the vicinity. Right now, it is a great source of inconvenience to the residents.

Provide regular water supply
We, the residents of Lane Number 2, Shakti Nagar, Jammu have been facing water shortage for a long time now.
Instead of releasing water on daily basis, PHE officials deployed at the Shakti Nagar pumping station release water twice a week and that too at a low pressure as they do not open the valve fully. Moreover, water is supplied at odd hours due to which people of the area have been suffering.
Water supplying pipes in the area are outdated and insufficient to cater to the water needs of the residents. These old and outdated pipes are found leaking here and there resulting into wastage of water but the officials pay no attention.
We have appealed the higher authorities of the PHE Department a number of times to lay down new pipes and issue orders to the pumping station staff to release water on daily basis but our requests are taken on deaf ears and nothing has been done by the concerned.
Despite the fact, the residents are paying the rent regularly to the PHE Department, the officials have failed to provide water supply regularly in the area.
The residents, threatened to protest if the problem was not resolved at the earliest.

Remove encroachments in Rehari
I want to draw the attention of the Jammu Municipal Corporation towards the unhygienic conditions prevailing on the back side of Baby Caterers.
The condition of lanes is deteriorating day by day and the filth water of drains gets accumulated within the area, due to which foul smell envelops the vicinity. In addition to this, the place has become a breeding place for mosquitoes and insects.
Besides, some of the inhabitants have encroached the lane to the extent of 6 ft, out of total width of the land 12 ft which in turn has created problems and suffering to residents. Some of the persons have dumped building material and stones on the lane side merely to grab the land.
In view of the submissions, it is requested that the area be given a face lift and encroachments removed.

Insanitary conditions in Lakkar Mandi
The residents of Indira Colony, Lakkar Mandi Janipur are suffering due to bad condition of roads and drainage system. The drainage system got severely damaged in last year’s flash flood. Since then these have been lying unrepaired. The roads of the colony have developed pot-holes and puddles and these are a major source of inconvenience to people of the area.
These issues need to be addressed at the earliest by Jammu Municipal Corporation and hope the Corporation may not dither on the issue any longer now.

Nohti- Devak road needs immediate repairs
If at all one desires to see a totally broken road, should take a chance to travel on the above said road. Pits and ditches it contains throughout its length, expose danger for transport operators and passengers as well. Among many factors which contribute in fatal road accidents, bad and ill-maintained roads stand at Serial No. 1. Daily travellers, like school/college going children, employees, particularly, the teachers community, businessmen and villagemen, face indescribable hardships and discomforts. After all, why such roads are kept in dilapidated condition, speaks highly about gross negligence on the part of those who actually are responsible for it.
It is, therefore, requested to the authorities concerned to initiate action for repair of the road expeditiously, atleast where it is awefully broken, to keep the transport system alive in the area. Really said, where the people’s voice is low and authorities are hard of hearing, the problems of the masses remain unremoved.
